Halloween is more fun all the time.

When you are a young adult/college student, Halloween is the best day of the school year (except for maybe reading days and the DAY AFTER finals are over. And except the first day of school. Because I love that day. And probably big athletic events. And other days. But anyway.)

Since I graduated from high school I have had a BLAST at Halloween. Freshman year me, Moe, and Jen made my favorite costumes of all time. We even went trick or treating. That may or may not have been a good idea for 18 year olds. Junior year my roommates and I were Greek goddesses, and is a blast and a half. Last year we threw a bomb party, that I think it might be my favorite party of all time.

AND THEN THIS YEAR. We threw another party. And it rocked. It was even bigger and better than last year (except I think I actually had more fun last year... but whatever).

Instead of posting a million pictures... you should just check out the album on facebook. It's open to the public... because there are so many millions of people in the album that I don't know. I had to make it available for everyone. So anyway... here's the link.

But how about a tasty preview?
Juliet, Gypsy Woman, Sandy, Marilyn

This, again, was one of those parties that stressed me out to the max. I should have started preparing DAYS before I actually did, and I really did kind of have a panic attack the night before. At that point I was ready to get the party all set up and then just come home and go to bed, purposely missing the whole party. Thankfully, I didn't resort to that dramatic refusal of fun. But really. I was anxious about everything. I always am. But then it's always worth it. And so much fun. And really, the only reason everything even worked out was because of the amazing friends that I have. Joey, Meg, Lorina, Edward, Ben, Drake, Mike, Rachel, Sara, Dawna, etc. helped so much. So amazing. I love them. :)

Peace and blessings. Peace and blessings.

Chapter 188: The meaning of Halloween (2010)

The number one best thing about Halloween: dressing up as something you're not. Or simply dressing in a costume that a normal, socially acceptable person wouldn't wear on an average day to school or work.

Halloween equals creativity and planning a special outfit. Perhaps sewing something or creating something from scratch. It means applying make up and doing hair differently than usual.

Some people equate Halloween with words like "fright" and "scary." That concept of Halloween has never been in my schema or Book of Audrey.

And as I have been known to say, "I don't believe in looking ugly on purpose." Which, I think, is a good mantra and should be applied to all people in all situations.

Boy Meets World defines Halloween as "the one holiday that brings loved ones together." And, when my concept of Halloween is considered, the BMW definition is entirely logical. Families can dress up together, go to parties, creatively carve pumpkins, bake treats for their neighbors and leave a little ghosty in the window, and trick-or-treat to get lots and lots of yummy candy that brings happiness and joy for weeks to come! Halloween is a joyous occassion of yummy treats, pretty costumes, and being with people you love.

Halloween was originally a Celtic holiday, or so Wikipedia suggests. It was the day of the year that the "veil" was the thinnest, and families could invite the spirits of their deceased relatives home for dinner, but with that they had to ward off the bad spirits. It was a celebration, but also a slightly fearful one. They used Halloween to honor and remember the dead.

Now, because of Memorial day, we no longer have the need to honor the dead on Halloween. So now it is just a fun day. And a significant one in the world of Harry Potter. (aka the day that You Know Who killed the Potters but failed to kill Harry, the day of Nearly Headless Nick's deathday party (when Harry first heard the basilisk in the wall, etc.). That is all. Not scary.

(I might add that this explanation was necessary because this year I happened to encounter several people who hate Halloween because it's "scary." They refuse to dress up and go to parties or whatever because they don't like Halloween. My argument is that a refusal to acknowledge Halloween because it is "scary" is illogical and kind of a fallacy. It doesn't have to be scary. Only fun.

This Halloween my roommates and I took the call to have fun on Halloween very seriously. It occurred in two stages:

1. Stake Halloween party on 10.29. Friday. It was also the day of a BYU basketball season preview. I missed it. For the party. We dressed up and went to dance and hang out with fun ward people. The dance was full of costumed Mormon kids who strictly followed the "no cross-dressing or masks" policy, and still obeyed the honor code dress and grooming standards. It was a wholesome, blast-and-a-half activity. I was a peacock (a really lame but cute one), Lene was Bones from the TV show, Sarie a cowboy midget (I promise it was more politically correct than it sounds), and Dani was Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. Dani and Lene, I think I should say, actually love dressing up scary for Halloween. Dani obsesses over it a little bit. (refer to this post from last year) But I like them anyway. :)
Roommates. My makeup looks funny.

the wardies. I'm peeking out from behind Belle. Notice the very tall Hagrid in the background. He's funny.

2. SHAKE YAH MONSTER MASH PARTY at our house on 10.30. Saturday night. It rocked the socks off any other Halloween party, ever. At least I had a blast. It was probably partly because throwing a party is like gathering all of the people who you like the most at your house in one night. You get to talk to all of your favorite people (excluding the ones who live far away and couldn't come), get all dressed up, dance to fun music, and have people exclaim to you about how fun your party is. Really, ya'll should try it sometime.

To assemble the party, Dani and I first planned out the decoration, food, and scheduling details. Then, Lene, Sarie, and I had a late-night planning session at which assignments were distributed, and each party-planner was given a list of things to do.

To get the word out, we announced the party together at ward prayer and gave everyone candy. Then, we sent out Facebook invitations.

Dani wrote the Facebook description of the event (which may or may not have been my favorite thing about the whole party):

"Due to my strong personal convictions, I wish to stress that this [party] in no way endorses a belief in the occult."
-Michael Jackson

for optimal facebook taggage, come between 8:30-9:30 for the PHOTOBOOTH and the consumption of delicious foodstuffs.

at 9:30 will commence Project: Shake What Yo Mamma Gave Yah.
to paint a mental picture:
-black lights (yes, we really REALLY love these things)
-taio cruz
-glow sticks
-wicked halloween decor
-special guest appearance by justin bieber. for realz this time.

costumes: mandatory :)

see all of you party animals there!

Then, on Saturday, the day of the party, we decorated and prepared for the party, which included:
-covering our entire living room with black trash bags to make it look like a giant black, never ending cave. The corners of the blackness were covered in giant spider webs (compliments of Dallin Henrie, the best spiderweb constructor on the planet)
-Adhering a 12-foot long piece of white butcher paper to the wall in the kitchen for signing with highlighters during the black-light portion of the evening (this was my other favorite part about the whole thing)
-Setting up the photobooth, complete with gray backdrop covered in a giant black spider web, nice camera (thanks Rachelle!!) on tri-pod, and spotlights for good lighting.
-Making the food: brownies, apple cider in giant cauldron with dry ice, bloody (white chocolate died red) popcorn, slimy (green jello) popcorn, edible teeth (apple slices with small marshmallows held between them with peanut butter) and loads of tootsie rolls. (Thanks to the ovens in both Banbridge 5 and 9).
-Borrowing and assembling speakers with the help of Jonathan Meacham (who reads my blog) and Brett Gladsen, ex-wardies but still friends extraordinaire.
-Removing ALL of the living room furniture and hiding it in the corners of our apartment, the one across the hall, and in the stairwells (this might have been the trickiest part of the whole thing) (Dani's Michael aided in the removal and BB9 very kindly allowed us to hide our couch in their apartment)
-Assembling a playlist (thanks Dani) complete with requested Jackson 5 songs.
-Setting up our entertainment center and TV outside of the door to play the "Thriller" music video on a loop throughout the whole party (my other favorite thing). (Made possible by the contribution of Lynne's extension cord).
-Preparing for the blacklights. We had to remove the tube lights from the hallway (which we aren't technically allowed to mess with), switch out the kitchen lights, borrow standing lamps from BB9, and switch all the light bulbs.
-getting ourselves costumed and ready. Stephanie had to come do my makeup at 5:00pm, in between getting herself and other friends ready.

And then the party started at 8:30, and TONS of people came. I always get really nervous about throwing parties. I mean, you really go out on a limb. You prepare all of this stuff, but then what if it's lame and no one comes? You put yourself in a vulnerable position when you plan things, but really, the stress is worth the reward.

Some of my favorite photos from the evening: (you can pick out the photobooth ones)
Ryan. Joey. Steve. Me. Lynne. My favorite part is that Joey is Peter Pan.

Dani and Michael looking purposefully awkward but so so so adorable as Jack and Sally

Washington Seminar alumni.

Rachelle and Brad looking hot as Mr. and Mrs. Smith

love love love this one.

ELISE!

you can get an idea of the crowd. and the black walls.

The Jackson 5 minus 1. Love these boys.
For more photobooth pictures, see THIS blog.

And I'm so thankful for all the random (but not so random) help we got. So many people contributed little things. It just made me realize how much I care about my Provo friends, and how much they care about me and my roommates. And when people came to the party who I invited but didn't really expect, I was so surprised and so happy! It makes you feel so good when people accept your invitation. I just really appreciated all the people who took the time to come to our party and make all the work worth it.

You see? Halloween really does bring loved ones together.

Audrey and the Two Scaries.

I was little red riding hood for Halloween, Dani was a very scary Thriller-inspired zombie, Lene was the wicked witch from Norway, and Rachelle was... a vampire (to make fun of that one book series. You know the one I mean). Why is it that people feel the need to be scary on Halloween? I refuse to dress up as anything that makes me look ugly. My personal philosophy is that Halloween is no excuse to be purposefully unattractive. So... I could NOT figure out why these girls that are cute and I love SO much wanted to be scary for Halloween. It will always be a mystery.

On Halloween, we went to a stake party that was CRAZY, and then to a free haunted house that was NOT scary. Okay, maybe a little scary.

The end.

An Indian Palace, Colors, Purple Snot, and Traffic

The Color festival at the Indian Temple in Salem, Utah. Amazing. Pretty much, there were just thousands of people, and lots and lots of colored chalk being thrown around all over the place. The holiday is to celebrate the coming of spring and the return of colors (because winter is made of GRAY).

We had planned to leave at 4. The official color throw was supposed to occur at 5:40. Plenty of time, right? No. We did not anticipate the THOUSANDS of people that would be trying to get to the tiny town of Salem at the exact time that we were. Traffic was bad. And it took forever to get there. By the time we did, they were out of chalk to sell. So, we didn't get our own colors to throw at people. But, we did make it in time for the countdown and mass chaos. Once everyone started to throw their chalk powder all around, the sky was COMPLETELY FILLED with chalk dust, and there was no way to see or breathe. The air was suddenly entirely opaque, and a breath immediately filled one's lungs with chalk powder. That was not a pleasant feeling or taste. The after affects of inhaling all the chalk included colored snot for like a week. Mine was purple. It was oddly disconcerting to blow my nose and see a whole bunch of purple stuff in the tissue. So weird.

So we got covered in chalk, and once the sky cleared, we began our search for Paul, who had the camera. I forgot to mention that I drove up with Dani, Lorina, Meghan, and Jon. They are great. Anyway, after like twenty minutes of trying to get to the Northwest corner, which was not the same northwest corner that Paul was talking about, we found Rachelle, who led us to other friends and outside of the crowd that was very loud. Communication with Paul finally occurred and we met up, snapped some pictures, and promptly made our way to the mosh pits by the stage. It was totally crowd surfing time. On the way down the hill, we noticed that several people had climbed onto the roofs of some awnings. There were official looking people trying to make them get down. And then Meghan said, "Oh my gosh! That's Rachelle!!" "What???" came my reply, "No, it's not... holy cow! It is!!!!" She was on the roof, running around like a mad woman! It was hilarious!

Down in the crowd both Meghan and Lorina crowd surfed, and I was very proud. Nobody could ever convince me to participate, however. That is just simply a bad idea. :) Below is a picture of Meghan, above the crowds...
All in all, it was a blast. A super huge party with lots of colors, and I love colors. Is that a good enough explanation, Moe?

Breakfast at Kaitlin's

Me and Kait

Kaitlin and her Mama.

Okay, so it wasn't breakfast, and it wasn't at Kaitlin's apartment. It was a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" themed bridal shower! BEST BRIDAL SHOWER EVER (except for the other two that I threw... Uh, I still love you BSC!).

We all wore black and white and pearls, and it was so fancy! We drank sparkling grape juice in tiny champagne glasses that we bought at the party store for $9. Kind of pricey, but so worth it! And Meghan, Lorina, and I made cupcakes- I made black-bottomed cream cheese (thanks for the recipe, Ash, it's my new fave!), Meg made strawberry shortcake cupcakes (that were ADORABLE, by the way), and Lorina attempted to make red velvet, and they would have been amazing, we just ran out of time to finish them before the shower started. Anyway, it was great. We decorated with black, white, a little bit of silver, and a little bit of Tiffany blue. We had pretty table clothes, and Audrey Hepburn posters, and balloons, and all sorts of festive things.

As for as activities for the shower went, Meg made a movie of Spencer answering questions about himself, and Kaitlin had to guess that answers. She actually did a really good job. :) Props. We also played a new game called, "Name that body part!" We took pictures of bunch of boys' arms, hands, feet, eyes, lips, butts, etc., and then we all guessed which ones were Spencer. Kaitlin, incidentally, was the only one who got them all right. It was a fun game, but a little hard to prepare. It was slightly awkward asking the boys if we could take pictures of their butts. We have cooperating friends, fortunately. I also made a little book for everyone to sign notes to Kaitlin in.

To sum up, it was really fun, but TOTALLY stressful. I forgot until just now how crazy it was that morning before the shower. When we woke up in the morning, we still had to take pictures of boys, print off the said pictures, clean the apartment, grocery shop for our cupcake ingredients, make the cupcakes, decorate the house, go the Pebbles to put together the advice book for Kaitlin, go to the party store to get dishes and such, buy balloons, AND shower and get ourselves ready for the extravaganza. The shower was at 2, and we didn't get to the store in the morning until about ten. To put it lightly, I WAS FREAKING OUT. I think I'm a pretty good party planner, I make things fun, right? But for some reason, this all just fell through until the last minutes. Part of the problem was my burnt hand because it made me do everything ten times slower than normal, and the other part was that I was totally out of party-preparing commission on Friday because my family was in town (which was great, by the way). I also have to say that NOTHING would have worked out if I had been doing it all myself. Meghan, Lorina, and Elise helped A LOT, and Ashley, Rachelle, and Ann did a lot too. Thanks, guys. (Also, I don't want to make this sound like it was my shower to throw- we were all kind of in it together- well, mostly Meghan and me). So, back to me freaking out. I was rushing around trying to do everything, making the cupcakes and throwing pots around, and Ann finally said, "Audrey, how about we put on some relaxing music. That usually seems to help you." So sweet, Annie Bananie. She knows that I can't live without my music. The problem, was, though, that the speakers that would have made the music worth playing were IN THE WAY, and we were trying to clear everything out of the living room, so music was not an option. Sad day.

All of the craziness is a success story, though. We were all totally ready by like 2:15 (so a little late, but everyone arrived late anyway). Miracle of Miracles. And Kaitlin, we love you, and all the stress was totally worth it to throw you an awesome shower. I hope you loved it, because it was pretty dang amazing. :) And Hannah, Dani, and Lauren, I'm so sorry you couldn't make it. :(

Sunshine

The weekly review: (I really like this game, by the way)
Sunday: I spontaneously drove to Huntsville, Utah for my cousin Dallas's ordination to the Aaronic Priesthood. It was great to see my aunts and uncles- and me and Dax are still best friends :) After all the festivities at Dave and Sherry's house, I drove to my Grandma Colleen's house. That was very dangerous because she very nearly convinced me to stay the night. I would have missed my Monday classes, which is not good. I refrained, luckily. And yes, I know that I look pale and gross in that picture with Daxton.
Monday: School, Cafe Rio, and 80's BOWLING!!! YAY YAY YAY! I LOVE Cafe Rio. My St. George Pebbles friend Becky was in town, so she took me, Lauren, and Kelsey all to Cafe Rio for dinner! It was like a mini St. George Pebbles reunion! I love those guys. Thanks Becky! For 80's bowling we dressed up in our favorite 80's attire, and no, it does not get old! Pictures are below! I have to say, though, that I am a very, very, very horrible bowler. I think I've had one strike in my entire life of bowling. But that's okay, because bowling is super fun anyway, and it's even more super fun when it's cheap and you're dressed all crazy! I also have to comment that my side ponytails are AMAZING.
Tuesday: School, AMERICAN IDOL!!!!! Not only do I love American Idol, but I also love Michael Jackson. And guess who was featured on last weeks' episode???!! The one and only! I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. I obviously watched with a very critical eye and frowned at the majority of the contestants' imitations (how DARE he try to perform Beat It??), but I LOVED Matt Giraud's version of Human Nature. I actually bought it on iTunes, and I have now listened to it more times than the actual version. I have even admitted to several people (and now the world) that I like Matt's version better than Michael's (collective GASP! here). Also, I think I need to update on the MJ/London concerts/This is it thing. So, there were originally going to be 10 shows, like I mentioned in the last post. However, the demand was SO HIGH, that he actually extended the ten shows in July to 50 shows running all the way into February of 2010. To add to all of that, all 50 shows SOLD OUT in the first 5 HOURS of pre-sale. RIDICULOUS, but SO COOL! So, even if I could afford a plane ticket to London, I couldn't go to the concert anyway. It is simply no longer even possible. :)
Wednesday: School, Work.
Thursday: School, work, employee crop night! This is starting to be a regular every Thursday thing, and I love it. I love scrapbooking.
Friday: School, work, Baskin Robbins with Meghan and Lorina, and Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. It took me like a half an hour to even remember what we did because it was so uneventful and SO not exciting.

Saturday: BEST DAY EVER! I slept in until eleven, went to the gym, went to Zupas for lunch with Meghan (I LOVE tomato basil soup), and then went to the BASEBALL GAME! I love baseball games! It was really warm and sunny and beautiful and perfect. We just basked in the sun for a couple hours while we watched BYU kill Utah at baseball. What could possibly be better? And when you look at the pictures, notice the sun in our faces (I love the sun!) and the beautiful baseball field with the mountains in the background. I love BYU. Then, me and Meg went to Pebbles to make invitation for Kaitlin's bridal shower and to Wal-Mart to get groceries (and a key lime pie). THEN, against all rules of Audrey Life, me, Meg, Kaitlin, Paul, Kyle, and Spencer went to Pizza Factory for dinner. I am not supposed to eat out 2 times in one day! I don't have any money! I am on a money spending fast now, and I promise, I can totally do it. I didn't any money except on gas for like the whole month of July because I was saving for D.C. The last event of the day was the PIE PARTY! Because it was March 14th, or 3.14, it was Pi Day, and we ate pie to celebrate. It was very delicious and festive.Kaitlin and Spencer had a fight with their pie. :/ Engaged people. Pah.

So that was my week- the end. And if you read this one, you get bonus points, because I know that my posts are getting more and more boring because my blog has turned into a journal and an account of my life, and not anything that is actually exciting. And, I am starting to write a plethora of run-on sentences, because let's face it, that is how I talk. THE END!

P.S. We finally got our dishwasher handle fixed! It had been like 6 months since it broke!

Paper Faces On Parade

My roommates and I have decided that because we only have TWO months until winter semester is over, we really need to step up our game and actually do the fun stuff that we talk about all the time. We realize that we only have those two months before we are all split up and are divided across the country forever!

So, this weekend, we totally did fun stuff! On Friday night Meghan, Rachelle, and I went to the BYU gymnastics meet at the Marriott Center. We love gymnastics. Yay. We had to leave early because Spencer proposed to Kaitlin, and now she is ENGAGED!!! So exciting, but so crazy. I got used to having all my St.G friends get engaged, but with my roommates it's a whole new experience. We are losing Kaitlin and Ashley to husbands this summer. I'm so happy for them, though. We all approve of their boys, so it's all good. :) After our mini engagement party, Rachelle and I went to Katie Barber's house for her going away party. Another friend of mine is going on mission! She leaves in three weeks and is going to Dallas, Texas, Spanish speaking.

On Saturday, I worked until 5, and then the REAL fun began. You know that post from a couple of weeks ago about my spontaneous weekend in St. George? Well, my friends from high school, Keith and Andrew, who just got home from their missions, came up to visit! They stayed with some girls that we all know, so we all hung out on Saturday. Me and Rachelle are working on convincing Keith to come to BYU- he wants to, but we'll see what happens. So, Rachelle and I took Keith on a tour of the BYU campus! SO MUCH FUN, right? I love BYU. We showed him all around the coolest buildings- like the library. I LOVE the library. And I told him about how it is the best thing in the world to sit in the Terrace and eat hot bread and honey butter from the Sugar 'N Spice at the Cougareat while you do sudoku from the Daily Universe newspaper and watch CNN! I don't know if he bought the whole idea, but I say don't knock it until you've tried it.

After the tour, we all had some getting ready to do. Me and Meg still needed to find masks for the MASQUERADE!!! And we only had a short period of time in which to find outfits and make ourselves gorgeous! We finally decided to make our own masks, and I found clothes at Stephanie's apartment. She practically has a clothing store in her closet. I love sisters who have clothes for me to steal. She even let me borrow these super hot green high heels! I left her house with three dress options and a couple pairs of shoes. I ended up in black with the green heels, and I decorated my mask with lots of lime green, teal, and blue glitter. The mask looks really amazing until you put it on, then it just looks silly. The top picture shows my first mask...

The masquerade was at a non-alcoholic club in Provo. When we got there, we got in line for the door. There were two lines: one line was for people who were on the guest list, and the other line was for stand-by. I was special enough to be on the guest list. When we got to the front
of the line the bouncers checked my name, and I got to go in! Just inside the door they were selling WAY COOLER masks, so I bought one of those. It was only $4! And it is AWESOME! There were waiters carrying around trays of hors d'oeuvres and there was an open bar of yummy raspberry flavored drinks that I promise were 100% non-alcoholic. It was so fancy and cool! Everyone was all dressed up and had cool masks, and it was so crowded! There were a ton of people there. They had a DJ and we danced a lot, but the music wasn't that great. We went home around midnight, so we were only there for like an hour and a half, but it was so fun!

See, it was really awesome, because we had a blast, but we also have tons of pictures to scrapbook! And when you scrapbook something, you enjoy the actual act of scrapbooking, plus it's bundles of fun to look at later! It's a plus all around! (P.S. this is a plug for Pebbles. Everyone should scrapbook, and everyone should go to Pebbles.)

These last pictures are me and Kaitlin. She didn't go to the masquerade, so we took pictures on my computer with the masks on. They are like my faves. :)

Gangstas+Tie Dye Masters= MAKARA

Gangstas
Tie-Dye Masters!!!

So I had a BLAST of a weekend, and I want to tell you all about it. On Friday me and my roommates decided to make tie-dye shirts. Meghan, Ann, and I went to Smith's to pick out dye. The plan was to tie-dye one of our white v-neck shirts, and then bleach out a peace sign (a huge one in the center). Great plan, right? When we started dying, I was very skeptical about how they would turn out. This skepticism was mostly because the dye was RETARDED. We picked purple, teal, and gold. The purple dye looked like tar, but the other two turned out okay except that the salt WOULDN'T DISSOLVE! So annoying.

We layered newspaper on the table, heated the dye, rubber-banded our shirts, then just went to town. In the process, we got dye just about everywhere. On the walls, all over our hands, and at one point, the whole purple pot fell on the floor, splattering dye all over the linoleum and table chairs. Panic ensued, and rags were thrown to the ground. Imagine if, at the end of the year, when we had cleaning inspections to move out of our apartment, and we had dyed our kitchen floor purple!!! Bad idea, chief! Luckily, we got it all cleaned up. No harm done.

We rinsed our shirts and threw them in the washer, so excited to see how they would turn out! I was worried that they would all turn out brown, but it was fun anyway, right?

In the meantime, we began our week-long planned Gangsta Part-y. I just have to make one thing clear: there is hardly anything more fun than dressing up in stupid clothes for no reason. I'm not going to describe our outfits, the pictures say it all. But once we were all ready, we started playing our gangster music and dancing like crazy people in the kitchen. My faves to dance to were "Fergalicious," and of course, some good old Kanye with "Stronger." It was a B-L-A-S-T! We took LOTS of pictures, and danced for a long time.

When our shirts were done, we put them on and took more pictures. And guess what? They turned out AWESOME!!!! The colors are a little duller than we would have liked, but overall, they turned out amazing. Since we like our shirts so much, no one dared to bleach out the peace sign! What if it didn't work??!! What would we do then? We would just have ruined shirts, and that is no good! Altogether, it was a blast of a night. I love chilling with my girls. Ladies nights are seriously usually the most fun that can be had.

Then, on Saturday, Meghan, Paul and I went to Park City to go shopping! I shouldn't have spent any money, but seriously, it was inevitable. I ended up spending like a total of $90.00. Sad day. But it was actually such a HAPPY DAY! I got such good deals. I got this awesome etnies t-shirt at Pac-Sun that has legs in high heels on a skate board on it! And I got a really nice shirt to wear with dress pants at Banana Republic for 10 bucks! It was at J. Crew, however, where I really hit jackpot. I got some gray dress pants for $19! AMAZING! They wer supposed to be like $89.99 original price! And last, I got the MOST AMAZING thing. I have, for like my whole life, wanted a pretty yellow 3/4 sleeve length cardigan. AND I GOT ONE!! AT J. CREW!!! FOR $26.00!!! I'm am SO excited about this...

The last day of the weekend: Sunday. And THE SUPER BOWL!!! Okay, so I wasn't too into the super bowl this year, because let's face it, who cares about the Steelers or the Cardinals? No one. But football is still fun to watch, especially when you're with friends.

So a good time was had by all. :) Yay for weekends, yay for roommates, yay for gangsters, yay for tie-dye, yay for good deals at expensive stores, yay for the super bowl, and yay for fun.

We took this picture while we were cleaning up the spilled pot. You can't see any of the spill because it was almost clean by this point. We really regretted not getting the whole thing. It was pretty bad, dude.

80's Skating: very fun but very painful.

Reasons Why:
1) Uh, it was 80's night! What is more fun than poofy hair, hot pink lipstick, minis, and leggings?
2) My girls are awesome, and now we are real friends with Amy and Lindsay downstairs. We are no longer just Sunday friends- we made the transition.
3) Classic roller skates are the bomb.com until you fall. That's where the painful part comes in.
4) I fell TWO times. First, I landed on my side and got a big bruise. Second, I fell straight backwards and smacked my tailbone on the floor. It hurt so bad I couldn't move for a minute, and I seriously almost cried. I never cry. We went skating on Saturday. It is now Wednesday. My tailbone is STILL sore. And I swear that I got whiplash from the experience. My neck was killing me afterward!
5) The skates scraped the skin off of my right ankle. That was particularly painful in the shower the next day.
6) Requesting "Billie Jean" and dedicating the song to Ashley and Devon in honor of their recent engagement...
7) Attempting to dance while skating. That may have been the reason for all the pain.
8) Well, that's about it. The night was fun until we put the skates on, and then it was too painful to be fun anymore.
9) But how about this one: when I realized that the 3" silver heels that I was wearing with my outfit were more comfortable than the skates I was wearing. It was honestly a relief to put them back on at the end of the night.
10) Singing in the car on the way to classic skating and back. I always love singing in the car.

PS- I have a shout-out for my Ash Baby. I love you, darling! And congratulations on the diamond! SCORE!!!! I'm so excited for you. :)

More Halloween...

The New SCLUB3

The Window Dancers. This one was taken at Jake's party. The old Lexie girls+Lauren, the fake Rachelle for the weekend.

Yes, Ann's face is very scary.

Our ward party. I was very horrible at eating donuts on a string.
Our list of Halloween Parties:
1) The party in Alpine.
2) The ward party.
3) The party in Smith Fieldhouse.
4) The party in the RB (in the new wing).
5) The party at Jake's house.
6) The Hollywood House party that was kind of scandalous.
7) The party at the Blue Door House.

So much fun! Halloween was crazy, crazy, crazy, but so much fun! We had a blast in our costumes, except that sometimes I was really grumpy because my toga was SO ANNOYING! And my hair got very very deflated when it rained... but that turned out okay because a boy told me it looked like Princess Buttercup, which is ALWAYS a compliment.

Yay for bringing loved ones together!
